Editor of Interface

Elected position, 3-year term, renewable, member of Board of Directors.

1.      CONTACTS AND MATERIALS

(a)           establish contacts/sources of materials for the newsletter and newsletter publisher

(b)          collect and solicit materials of interest for the newsletter

(c)           ensure that other materials get into the newsletter on a timely basis as directed by the Board

(d)          prepare collected materials into newsletter format

2.      PRINTING AND ISSUING

(a)           ensure that all materials to accompany the newsletter mail-outs are appropriately included

3.      ADVERTISING

(a)           ensure advertising is inserted as per commitments

(b)          maintain liaison with paid advertisers

(c)           solicit advertising support for the newsletter

(d)          consider and accept or reject advertisements for the newsletter based on content and/or arrangements for payment from the sponsor

4.      SUGGESTED NEWSLETTER SUBJECT AREAS

(a)         regular subject areas for the newsletter could include:

·      editorial(s)

·      president's report

·      continuing education activities

·      ethical techniques column

·      regulatory updates

·      upcoming meetings

·      new books, publications

·      article/book reviews

·      case reports

·      grants and awards

·      positions available

·      people

 

(b)        occasional subject areas for the newsletter could include:

·      annual membership dues notices

·      award/board nominations forms

·      ballots for voting on elections and other matters

·      material relating to the annual general meeting

5.      CALAM/ACMAL BOARD MEETINGS

(a)           Prepare report for Board meetings.

(b)          Circulate the report to all Board members at least one week prior to the meeting.

(c)           Attend Board meetings

6.      GENERAL

(a)           Ensure that the Association's communication newsletter - INTERFACE - is prepared and distributed as per the general guidelines of the Association.

(b)          Current expectations are that the newsletter be published quarterly as February/Mar, Apr/May, Aug/Sept, and Oct/Nov issues each year. Issue templates are as follows: Feb/Mar – call for award and Board nominations, reminder of AGM and details of luncheon, Apr/May - biographies of nominees, reminder of CALAM session, AGM, and luncheon details, Aug/Sept – AGM highlights, CALAM CR award recipient, acknowledgement of luncheon sponsors, symposium highlights and plans for next year, announcement of current Board, Oct/Nov – separate membership application form included with mail-out, salary survey (as appropriate)

(c)           Account for all expenses incurred and submit them to the Treasurer

(d)          File copies of all correspondence with the Secretary
